In the spring of 2004, Christopher Dallman released his debut album Race the Light. The eleven song arc brought listeners through the mending of a broken heart and the finding of one’s identity in a city full of strangers. He spent two years tirelessly promoting the album- touring colleges, clubs, theaters, and living rooms in this country and abroad. The album was nominated for Best Debut Male in the 2005 Outmusic Awards and yielded the fan favorite, Over my Head, which built on Christopher’s loyal following after being featured on MTV’s “The Real World”.

In the five years following Race the Light, Christopher delved deeper into songwriting, exploring the intricacies of his experiences through his music. A long distance move, a death, and a new love took him far from his roots, yet somehow brought him closer to himself. He is now armed with an explosive stockpile of new songs- songs that touch on transformation, discovery and loss, and that familiar fear of letting go of your dreams to hold onto reality.

Ready to chronicle his own revival, Christopher is at long last hard at work on his follow-up with Producer Barrie Maguire (Amos Lee, The Wallflowers, Natalie Merchant) and engineer Rachel Russell (Birdie Busch, Pink, Katy Perry) at Redstar Studios in Silverlake, California.

Look for new music and a definitive new voice in the fall of 2009.

“Inspired showmanship… hard-driving songs” –Backstage

“A Soulful debut!” — TimeOut Chicago

“Dallman is a fine tunesmith and his guitar-playing pulls no punches either. His distinct vocal style has touches of the lightness of a James Taylor or a David Gray. He is an assured performer who should find a ready audience for his intelligent and lyrical output around Europe.”

-Jackie Hayden, Hotpress Magazine, Ireland

“Christopher Dallman’s debut CD is an entertainingly literary pilgrimage into the inner sanctum of the songwriter’s psyche. If good songwriting confronts listeners with truth about themselves, their emotions, and their world from a fresh point of view, then the songs on Race The Light represent songwriting at its best.”

-Ken Mowery, Indie-Music.com

“It’s uncommon that a debut album has this much punch and promise all packed into one firm unit. Wait till the Village Voice catches onto his genius, you..ll be forced to buy tickets well in advance of his shows rather than at the door.”
